far & free is a British Columbian brand at heart, brought to life by Canadian Eyewear Designer Michelle Lane, and supported by an amazing community of women known as the far & free Design Collective. Each sunglass design is inspired by the natural beauty of the west coast, and by the women who make this province an amazing place to live.

far & free Design Collective member and talented B.C. photographer Sacha Alfonzo V. was behind the lens for our brand's first photoshoot. Her keen eye captured some amazing moments as seen in the beautiful lifestyle images on farandfree.ca.

 

Vancouver-based agency V. Polite was behind the photography for each sunglass image. The team's attention to detail is impeccable and every design element and angle of the eyewear is artfully showcased through their work.

Thoughtful & Conscious Design

Designed in B.C. and inspired by the natural beauty of the west coast, it was important that each far & free sunglass creation be comprised of sustainable materials, and crafted by long-trusted manufacturing partners. 

All metal far & free frames are made of 100% recycled stainless-steel, and all plastic designs are made of bio-based cellulose acetate that is derived from wood pulp and produced by Italian company, Mazzucchelli. These raw materials are cut and crafted into the final designs by a talented producer in Shenzhen, China, and completed using strong, long-lasting hinges by OBE Germany.
